Sigma APO 150-500mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM ultra-telephoto zoom lens covers a telephoto range up to 500mm and allows photographers to bring the subject close and short perspective with Sigma’s original OS (Optical Stabilizer) function offers the use of shutter speeds approximately 4 stops slower.
Let’s look at how does the Sigma APO 150-500mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM, performs in actual shooting. Images are taken using Sigma APO 150-500mm F5-6.3 DG OS HSM and Nikon D700 Full Frame DSLR. 100% sample shot is inlcuded for each photo.
The focal length is 150mm to 500mm as Nikon is a Full Frame with 1x Crop Factor.
This is currently one of the most affordable Super-Telephoto lens by Nikon. If this lens was announced 8 years ago, I will not pay any attention at all because at then DSLRs’ ISO1600 was mostly a marketing strategy and was only good for Black and White prints. These days, for amateur photographers, f5.6 coupled with any midrange DSLRs’ ISO3200 or even ISO6400, one will be able to get a decent shutter speed for wildlife or sports photography.
Nikon D750 AF-S NIKKOR 200-500mm f/5.6E ED VR – Birding
Love these samples especially the portrait ones – demonstrating D750’s power when paired with 35mm F1.8G
This is the official sample photos from Nikon, as usual, cropped into 100% for better viewing.
Patience on its loading time.
A good catch using one of my favourite wide-angle lens the AF-S NIKKOR 14-24mm f/2.8G ED. I was at actually expecting some sports footage, but this will do – for now. (more…)
