JVC Announces Full HD LCD Monitor for Digital SLR Users

With wider color space, 42-inch class super slim, lightweight Full HD monitor faithfully reproduces the colors, detail and texture of high resolution still photos made by digital SLR cameras.

Establishing a new category in flat panel TV design, JVC today announced an LCD TV system that includes a super slim monitor that features a color space that is wider than a typical HDTV’s.

Canon Awares of Black Dot Phenomenon and Vertical Banding Noise

Canon released the following statement regarding the black phenomenon and vertical banding noise

To Owners of the EOS 5D Mark II Digital SLR Camera :

Thank you for using Canon products.

We have learned that some users of the Canon EOS 5D Mark II digital SLR camera have indicated two types of image quality phenomena that appear under certain shooting conditions.

  1. “Black dot” phenomenon (the right side of point light sources becomes black)
  2. Vertical banding noise

UK: DSLR Sales Up by 800%

PMA reported that digital single lens reflex sales in the United Kingdom has soared to 800% in comparison to four years ago.

Figures are expected to show that unit sales of DSLRs have soared by 350,000 since 2004.

By the end of this year PMA expects the number of DSLRs sold to total around 400,000. Four years ago the figure stood at around 50,000. UK: DSLR Sales Up by 800%
