Panasonic confirms that they will introduce the company’s third digital single lens reflex camera on the 12 September in conjunction to Photokina 2008. The upcoming model will be a replacement for DMC-L10K introduced last year.
Panasonic highlighted that the new model will have an unique feature to set a new trend in digital SLR photography. However, there is no details about the unique feature.
Digital SLR photography has come a long way since its introduction. Olympus pioneered the self sensor cleaning system which is seen followed by all other camera manufacturers. Olympus also introduced the Live View version making it possible to capture image by composing via the LCD screen similar to a digital compact camera. Lately, Nikon announces that its Nikon D90 has the ability to record High Definition (HD) videos.
No matter what unique feature the Panasonic will have, it will need to excel the above features in order to stand out of the crowd.
Major manufacturers are expected to introduce new model in the upcoming Photokina 2008. Panasonic, Canon, Nikon and Sony are almost certain to introduce new digital SLRs, other manufacturers like Olympus and Pentax are keeping low profile.
