Nikon Full Frame DSLR, D700 Leaked

It was convincing enough for me to start an article about the “leaked” after reading Crave’s Nikon’s midrange full-frame dSLR report. Goh reported that they (CNET) made a call to Nikon regarding the leaked images (seen above).  Nikon did not give any feedback about but hinted that they (Nikon) will reveal more when the date draws near. In addition, they did reveal that those photos of the brochure were genuine.

With the retail price rumored to be at USD$2999, it shall be in the position to compete with Sony’s Alpha A900, the electronic giant’s first full frame, boosting a 24MP resolution sensor. The Nikon D700 is advertised as the foundation for one’s exceptional images using the famous Nikon D3 12MP Nikon FX-format CMOS sensor, where it’s known as the best lowlight performance DSLR by professionals. The Nikon D700 is capable of producing clean images from ISO200 through ISO6400. However, I am expecting it to produce better than the Nikon D3 if Nikon is really going to outsell the Sony’s A900 and the rumored Canon 5D Mark II. Using yesterday’s technology for today’s product is not going to get them anywhere.

Nikon’s new PC-E lenses

Electronista reported that we can expect Nikon D700 to be announced during Photokina 2008, where we are expecting the Sony A900 too. Is the 5D Mark III coming out too at Photokina 2008? Some new lenses are expected from Nikon too, namely PC-E Micro NIKKOR 85mm F2.8D ED and PC-E Micro NIKKOR 45mm F2.8D ED.

Where is the rumored Nikon D10? If there is no D10 then why the battery grip of Nikon D300 is called MB-D10 not MB-D300?

We shall wait and see, do send in if you have further info.
